Harry Bliss, Illustrator and Artist for
the 2008 Summer Reading Program
The illustrator for the 2008 Summer Reading Program is Harry Bliss.
Bliss is an award-winning cartoonist and cover artist for
The New
Yorker magazine. He grew up in a family of successful painters and
illustrators. Bliss studied painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine
Arts, and illustration at The University of the Arts (BFA) and Syracuse
University (MA). He is the illustrator of several best-selling
children's books, including
A Fine, Fine School by Sharon Creech
and
Diary of a Worm and
Diary of a Spider, both by Doreen
