The Social Sciences Department covers a wide range of subjects in the humanities and social sciences disciplines. The collection includes materials on philosophy, psychology, self-help, religion, sociology and social groups, family and gender studies, politics and political science, crime and criminology, law, education, travel, geography and history. Biographies of men and women who have gained notoriety in these fields are also included. Information on these subjects are available in the following formats: books, magazines, newspapers, audio books, videos, and DVDs. The department also has an extensive reference collection that is heavily used by students and life long learners of all ages.
